The Vice President of Research & Development leads the company’s R&D function, defining and executing the strategy for new product development and commercialization. As a key member of the leadership team, this individual ensures that R&D initiatives align with business objectives while partnering closely with product management, operations, and commercial teams. This role is focused on translating innovation into measurable results: delivering high-quality products that meet performance, timeline, and cost targets while continuously strengthening the organization’s innovation capabilities.
This leader is responsible for building and developing a high-performing team of scientists and engineers, establishing a clear structure, a strong culture, and effective operating processes that support both execution and long-term growth. The role oversees the R&D roadmap, resource allocation, and budget management, while maintaining a strong external orientation to customers, emerging technologies, and industry trends.
The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation and 15+ years of experience in research, development, or related technical roles, including 7+ years in leadership. A bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline is required; an advanced degree is preferred. They have a proven track record of leading cross-functional product development in complex environments and contributing at the enterprise level. Expertise in the research and development of chromatography products is a must-have.
This individual is a collaborative, results-oriented leader who builds trust, navigates change effectively, and consistently delivers impact. Experience in global and highly regulated or technical environments is preferred, with chromatography experience a plus.
