A leading global contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) for biologics, vaccines, and advanced therapies is seeking a Global CDMO Chief Compliance Officer to lead its worldwide compliance function. Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer and maintaining a dotted-line relationship to the CEO, this executive will be responsible for defining and executing a global compliance strategy that supports business growth while effectively managing evolving compliance risks. The role will partner closely with executive leadership and business functions across the organization to ensure compliance serves as a strategic enabler of growth, trust, and long-term value.
The Global CDMO Chief Compliance Officer will oversee the global compliance program, including compliance strategy, risk assessments, policy development, auditing and monitoring, investigations, training, and governance. Key responsibilities include consolidating United States and European compliance programs into a unified global framework; overseeing compliance in areas such as antitrust, anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, modern slavery, and data privacy; monitoring emerging compliance risks; leading compliance staff; supporting acquisition due diligence activities; and serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on risk mitigation and compliance matters. The role also requires collaboration with legal, human resources, communications, and information security teams to strengthen compliance culture, data protection practices, and program effectiveness throughout the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree, and bring more than 10 years of compliance experience, including at least 5 years within the biotechnology, or pharmaceutical industry. Candidates should have experience leading compliance programs within complex, global, matrixed organizations and a strong understanding of the requirements for effective compliance programs, including the OIG Compliance Program Guidance for Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines. Success in this role will require exceptional relationship-building, influencing, communication, and business partnering skills, along with the ability to operate independently, think strategically, and lead compliance initiatives across diverse functions and geographies. International travel will be required as needed to support business and compliance objectives.
