Position Description:
Our client is a well-established private practice with over 30 physicians and 6 PhD scientists, who've been partnering with top-ranked health systems across the Carolinas for over 50 years. They're searching for a Senior Director/Director of Molecular Pathology & Co-Director of Cytogenetics to work within the nation's 3rd-largest health system. You'd partner with clinicians, lead new test development, and evaluate emerging technology, while signing out a high-volume of cases split evenly between molecular and cytogenetic.
As the Senior Director/Director of Molecular Pathology and Co-Director of Cytogenetics, you would provide clinical and operational leadership across both laboratories, which operate at the same location but as separate labs, each staffed with 16–18 employees (including a Variant Analyst in the molecular
lab). You would dedicate approximately 25–50% of time to laboratory leadership and the remaining 50–75% to case sign-outs.
This is a unique opportunity to lead high-volume labs without the administrative demands of personnel management, given that you would be employed by a private practice. You would also have the opportunity to finish the selection of new technology for the molecular lab.
