This role provides overall leadership of an otolaryngology (ENT) department, with responsibility for setting strategy, driving performance, and ensuring consistent, high-quality care across multiple locations. The Chair leads the development and execution of a long-term strategic plan, aligning clinical, operational, and financial goals while improving quality, safety, patient experience, and efficiency. The position works closely with administrative and clinical leaders to strengthen operations, optimize care delivery, and expand services across the region.
The Chair is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations as well as long-term growth, including resource planning, financial performance, and progress against key metrics. This role leads physician recruitment, mentorship, and development efforts, while building a strong culture of collaboration, accountability, and engagement. Additional responsibilities include maintaining relationships with residency and fellowship programs, supporting education and research initiatives, and representing the department at the enterprise level. The position also involves regular communication with senior leadership, monitoring departmental performance, and helping implement broader business and operational strategies.
Candidates must be board-certified in Otolaryngology and hold an MD, DO, or equivalent, with eligibility for medical licensure in the applicable state(s). The ideal candidate brings significant leadership experience in both clinical and academic settings, along with a track record of building teams, improving care delivery, and driving strategic growth. Strong communication, operational, and leadership skills are essential, along with the ability to lead change and balance clinical, financial, and organizational priorities.
