This role leads a global R&D organization focused on developing new products and advancing next-generation technologies. The Head of Global R&D oversees teams across hardware, software, and systems to bring innovative solutions to market while maintaining the performance and quality of existing products. The position plays a key role in setting the long-term R&D direction, ensuring work stays aligned with business priorities, and partnering closely with teams across regions to move both near- and long-term initiatives forward.
Operating in a global, matrixed environment, this role manages a distributed team across multiple locations and is responsible for execution, budgeting, and keeping projects aligned with broader business goals. Success in this position comes from building strong, collaborative teams, staying connected across functions, and consistently delivering practical, high-impact solutions that meet evolving market needs.
The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field and brings 10+ years of experience in analytical instrumentation or chemistry automation. They have a strong technical foundation across software and instrumentation, with experience spanning electrical, electronics, and mechanical engineering, ideally within semiconductor or similarly complex high-tech environments. They also bring at least five years of R&D leadership experience, with a proven ability to lead global, cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization. This individual is comfortable operating at the intersection of hardware and software development, collaborating across engineering, finance, sales, and operations, and communicating complex ideas clearly. The role requires up to 25% travel and the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, international environment.
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $200,000 to $250,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, geographic location, market conditions, and the overall scope and responsibilities of the role. The base compensation range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation at the time of this job posting and may be modified in the future. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
